Vickar Ford is Manitoba’s Ford F-150 headquarters.
“We have more F-150 models in stock than any other Ford dealer in Manitoba,” says Vickar Ford sales representative Shawn Henke.
As an F-150 fans know, the F-150 has been Canada’s top-selling vehicle by a country mile for years. And the 2018 model - which is now available at Vickar Ford is better than ever.
The 2018 model comes with a new-look grille, bumper and tailgate with the F-150 nameplate stamped on the back, Henke notes.
The new model also offers an additional engine choice - a new 3.3L naturally -aspirated V6 – replacing the formerly base model 3.5L. The 3.3L engine boosts horsepower and torque slightly. Also, the outgoing 2.7L EcoBoost V6 and 5L V8 have been somewhat modified. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and 3.5L high-output EcoBoost V6 remain unchanged.
All engine options are coupled with a 10-speed transmission.
Standard on all F-150s this year is Ford’s Auto Start-Stop Technology which can help reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. When an F-150 comes to a stop and is idling, the engine automatically shuts off. Then, it seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.
And Ford’s standard Standard Dynamic Hitch Assist provides a visible sight line on the instrument panel display, to help direct your hitch ball to the trailer receiver.
As well, Ford’s available SYNC Connect helps you stay connected to your F-150, using the FordPass App. FordPass controls include a remote lock/unlock, check fuel status, scheduled vehicle start and helps locate your vehicle.
Henke also points out that there are new colour options for 2018 such as Stone Gray and Magnetic Metallic to go with Blue Jean metallic, Ingot Silver Metallic, Lightning Blue, Oxford White, Race Red and Shadow Black.
“They are a lot more exciting Ford products coming down the pipe,” Henke reports.
