If it’s a tough, built-for-anything kind of pickup truck you’re looking for than you’ll want to look no further than the 2018 F-Series Super Duty trucks. There’s a reason Ford F-Series pickups have been No.1 for decades, the people over at the Blue Oval head offices know a thing or two about building highly capable workhorse pickups.
For starters, let’s start with the fact that the 2018 Ford F-Series SuperDuty pickup can be equipped with a second-best in class Power Stroke diesel engine (specifically in the F-450) that produces a staggering 925 lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that means this particular pairing in the Ford SuperDuty can tow up to 32,500 lbs.
If that’s just too much capability for you, there’s the standard 6.2L V8 that produces 385 horsepower and a best-in-class 430 lb-ft of torque.
While the F-Series SuperDuty pickups when through the most changes in 2017, those upgrades remain for 2018. The aluminum body with fully boxed steel frame remains, as does the revised Power Stroke diesel engine mentioned above. Towing is made much easier with Ford’s in-cab tire pressure monitor system, as well as Trailer Reverse Guidance. Plus, you’ll find a host of driver assist features (adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake assist, blind spot monitor, etc.) in the 2018 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, too.
In terms of technical bits and bobs, the 2018 Ford F-Series SuperDuty pickups may be built for the tough stuff, but inside they feature all the latest to keep you connected, as well. There’s a standard 8.0” colour touchscreen that features Ford’s SYNC as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and there’s also another 8.0” customizable colour gauge cluster display.
